Summer Symphony Series That’s Sure to Be a Smash Hit!
We’re launching the SummerFest 2024 with a boom, bang, and brass! Our opening act, the “July 4 Spectacular” features the high-octane Brass Transit with a tribute that’s all jazz hands on deck—honoring the legendary band Chicago. Fireworks will light up the sky, but it’s the brass that’ll ignite the night!
On July 27, City of Hope Orange County presents a Concert of Hope, welcoming all whose lives have been touched by cancer. The Symphony will perform George Gershwin’s most beloved work, Rhapsody in Blue, which was composed and premiered 100 years ago. Famed piano soloist Jeffrey Biegel will perform the work. To celebrate the centennial of Rhapsody in Blue, Peter Boyer composed a new work for piano and orchestra inspired by the iconic masterpiece. The new work is titled: Rhapsody in Red, White & Blue and will be given its California premiere by Jeffrey Biegel accompanied by Carl St.Clair and the Pacific Symphony.
“Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in Concert” on August 10 will have you star struck as the saga unfolds with the score soaring live. It’s your chance to side with the Symphony or the Sith!
On August 23, wave your wands for “The Magical Music of Harry Potter,” conducted by the spellbinding Enrico Lopez-Yañez. It’s not just music; it’s magical!
And for the grand finale, our “Tchaikovsky Spectacular” on September 7 will blast cannons, dazzle with fireworks, and leave you thrilled with excerpts from the Nutcracker and the thrilling Violin Concerto. It’s Tchaikovsky’s salute to summer’s end!
