Family Musical Mornings presented by Farmers & Merchants Bank Launches Its New Season with “Halloween and Fabulous Fall Festivals”
Pacific Symphony invites young audiences to celebrate the rich tapestry of autumnal traditions from around the globe—be it Halloween, Día de los Muertos, Mid-Autumn Festival, Diwali, or beyond. Audience members can don a festive costume, illuminate a candle, or groove to infectious rhythms. No matter what the cultural heritage, young audiences will have an unforgettable experience of collective joy at “Halloween and Fabulous Fall Festivals” on Sat., Oct. 21. The viewing experience will be enhanced with Image Magnification (IMAG) technology, which brings you up close and personal with performers, conductors, and orchestra members on a large-screen display.
Taking place Sat., Oct. 21, in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa, the “Halloween and Fabulous Fall Festivals” performances begin at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. This concert is the first of four programs in the Family Musical Mornings series presented by Farmers & Merchants Bank. Tickets start at $15. Kid-friendly activities take place in the concert hall lobbies, themed to complement the musical selections. Features include a coloring corner, crafting area, photo backdrop, and an interactive S.T.E.A.M. station. Activities commence at 9 a.m. for those attending the 10 a.m. concert and at 12:15 p.m. for the 11:30 a.m. audience. Dr. Jacob Sustaita, Pacific Symphony’s assistant conductor who leads the orchestra at these concerts commented, “With this first concert of the Family Musical Mornings series, we are going to do something we have never done before—our concert is a celebration of all types of Fall traditions and festivities like Halloween, Día de los Muertos, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Diwali. Whatever your background, everyone will enjoy and be moved by the music, songs, instruments, and magic of today’s concert.”
Pacific Symphony extends its gratitude to the partner organizations whose collaboration has been central to the creation of this special concert: Sara Guerrero, Founding Artistic Director, Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble; Harish Murthy, Executive Director, Ektaa Center; and Rachel Wang, Director Community Engagement, South Coast Chinese Cultural Association/Irvine Chinese School.
