Nowruz: Spring’s Symphony of Renewal
Get ready to shake off the winter blues and leap into the vibrant hues of spring with the Pacific Symphony’s upcoming Nowruz concert: it’s an Iranian New Year celebration that’s as ancient as it is awesome. This year, on March 23, the stage will be set ablaze with the electrifying performances of vocalist Shahram Nazeri (aka “Iran’s Pavarotti”), and a host of other musical artists who’ll take you on a sonic journey through contemporary Iranian symphonies and the soul-stirring melodies of traditional Persian music. This program is a special collaboration between Pacific Symphony and Farhang Foundation.
This concert is generously sponsored by the Farhang Foundation, Anoosheh and Alan Oskouian, and members of the Cyrus Society.

Let’s dive a bit deeper into the heart of this celebration, shall we? Nowruz, for those who might be tapping into Google right now, is not just a New Year celebration. It’s a festival older than the ruins of Persepolis, marking over 3,000 years of history, tradition, and the joyous welcoming of spring. Imagine every note played at this concert not just reaching your ears, but touching your soul, reminding all of us of the rejuvenation, renewal, and the universal language of music that knows no borders.
In the lobby before the concert, audience members can enjoy the sounds of Iranian musicians serenading the air, and a sumptuously appointed Haft Sîn table setting the scene. It’s not just a concert; it’s a cultural fiesta celebrating over 3,000 years of Persian heritage.
This concert is not just a musical journey; it’s a cultural bridge, an invitation to explore and celebrate the richness of Persian culture through its most universal language: music. It’s a reminder that in a world where differences often take center stage, there are beautiful moments where we can come together, united in our humanity and our shared love for art and beauty.

This year’s concert is sold-out by popular demand, but make a note to get your tickets for the 2025 Nowruz concert early in the year. That way, you’ll ready to welcome spring with a musical bang that promises to be more refreshing than a double scoop of your favorite ice cream on a hot day.
